Bad Star led three workshops at Waltham Forest College inviting students to consider exploring a career in creative digital artistry.
Waltham Forest College is based in Walthamstow which sits within the borough of London Borough of Waltham Forest.
FILM WORKSHOP
26th March 2022
In partnership with our Community Project Initiative and Napier Films we collaborated to create a bespoke workshop to help train the future of our industry supporting the government Kickstarter apprenticeship scheme that is running in the UK. Held in our versatile studio, the workshop taught fundamental light and camera techniques to engaging Kickstarter employees that are passionate about moving image.
AID FOR UKRAINE
7th and 8th March 2022
In support of Ukraine the studio was opened as the E11 drop off point for aid to be driven to the Polish/Ukraine border. We were very happy to have received generous donations and contribute towards helping in this way.
GONG BATH
Friday 5th March 2022
Donating the studio space to Lydiana Abbott a local yoga teacher. She collaborated with Lexi Elven who in partnership created a relaxing and peaceful evening for 14 participants and raising £500 for SevaStreet.
UNIVERSITY TALK

It was a pleasure to welcome Newcastle University photography students to the studio. Talking to Bad Star Studios Founder Kai Bastard, the students were walked through how photography is adapting due to the pandemic along with technological advances. and what this means for the future of photography.

Original Magazine wanted to launch a new and exciting edition to the platform, by creating and featuring fashion editorials with new emerging talents and student creatives. By working with recent graduate and fashion designer House of Elana, as well as a group of talented student and post grad creatives, they unleashed their inhibitions to create a modern day twist on a studio 54 inspired shoot

Krista Gurcka is a recent graduate of Kingston School of Arts specialising in editorial and documentary photography. Her shoot was all about capturing a different viewpoint of her models.
LARGE AMBITIONS

Ian Tillotson shot this amazing still life piece with a stunning set build and pops of colour. The shoot is a perfect example of just how dynamic the studio really is.

FUND RAISING

Blown Away was a charitable shoot raising money for Henry Maynard Primary School. We all felt a little ‘Blown Away’ by 2020 and with that idea in mind, we invited local residents to take part in a free photoshoot but with a twist, one that would literally leave you feeling blown away.
